MIDSOMER MURDERS SOCIETY – SPECIAL EVENT @ 23 MARCH 2019: ‘ABIGAIL’S PARTY’ AT THE WATERSIDE THEATRE IN AYLESBURY STARRING DANIEL CASEY

4 intrepid Midsomer Murders Society members headed to Aylesbury's Waterside Theatre to see Jodie Prenger, Vicky Binns and Daniel Casey aka DS Gavin Troy, in this comedy. Well, we mainly went to see Daniel Casey, if we're honest...

The setting is very much the 70's, from the wallpaper to the moustache on Daniel's face... but we enjoyed the comedy, even if it was at times a bit cringey, we were told this was on purpose!

The storyline goes like this:

Beverly (Jodi Prenger) and husband Laurence (Daniel Casey) are throwing a party for their newlywed neighbours, Tony and Angela. Joining them is highly strung Susan, whose been banished from the party of her teenage daughter Abigail (who the audience never get to see, despite giving her name to the play!). Welcome to 1970’s suburbia and its heady mix of free-flowing cocktails, classic disco and cheese and pineapple sticks. As tensions rise and tempers flare, the sheen of respectability is torn away by the warring couples with hilarious and potentially disastrous consequences.

‘Come on Sue - just a little top up!’

We were very lucky to meet Daniel after the play at the stage door - he recognised us from his visit to our fan weekend in 2017 and chatted away to us. He mentioned the Society dinner, and we wasted no time inviting him to the 2019 fan weekend...and he said yes!!
